Hi,
Another car horn topic again, I was lead to believe that it only came with one horn, I disconnected this horn at the front and I still have a horn?
Anyone know where the other car horn is located, can it be accessed easily?
I'm in the process of fitting PIAA dual horns (slender horns) but I've noticed that the low tone 400Hz is not really working, from listening to sound clips my horn doesn't sound as loud and I'm not hearing that low tone, looks like the horns will have to go back!
All wiring is good, I'm also using a relay for safety.
Thanks in advance

Enter "HORNS" in search box before starting new threads, as has been asked/ answered previously. !

Hi Mate
I have noticed this kind of reply to a few posts, it does look a bit abrubt and I have wondered why they post like this.
I mean what if you did not know how to use the forum search ?
Any way me being new here I thought I would try and help you out and I found this post with pictures of the hidden horn
Hope this helps

I’ve now seen the second horn, not exactly easy to access with out taking bits off, unsure if it can be accessed from underneath.

Doing the horn upgrade on the Qashqai hasn’t been the easiest compared to other cars I’ve had.
Im currently using two PIAA slender horns in place of the upper stock horn, using a relay and using the stock horn cables.
For some reason the horns seem under powered, when I test the horns directly on the battery they are loud! but when connected via the relay they are not as loud... I’ve tried two relays to rule out a relay issue.
I’m using 14 gauge wire, original horn wires connected to 85-86 on the relay, 12v+ running from 30 on relay to the + battery.
87 on the relay goes to positive on PIAA horns, negative from PIAA horns go to the negative on the battery.
I’m using a 10A fuse on the battery + (30) cable
I’m at a loss as to why the horns don’t sound as loud, they work ok as I said when directly connected to the battery, so something is happening in between?
Will running the ground cable off the PIAA horns to the battery cause an issue, this and the 12v+ feed to the battery uses the longest lengths of cable.

I did the twin horn conversion a couple of months back. Didn't use a relay and had to mount the second horn on the other side of the radiator. You haven't wired the horns in series rather than parallel have you? The 12V+ must go directly to each horn not from one to the other.

Both horns have independent cables going to both positive and negative.fbgqashqai wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 9:30 am I did the twin horn conversion a couple of months back. Positive on horns then joins into one connection as this connects to 87 on the relay
12v runs from the positive on the battery to 30 on the relay.
I'm using a relay due to previously blowing the horn switch on the steering wheel, won't be risking that again!
Could you guys with 2 horns make a short footage how new QQ sounds like?

i have just replace the second horn, it was almost impossible and very complicated to do it from underneath without removing the bumper.
hope the pics will help others.
