I’m currently thinking about buying a new Qashqai, however, one thing that is putting me off is the lack of Apple CarPlay.

With the Micra now having it, and Nissan putting it in other cars in the states, is there any chance of it coming to the UK via a software update?

If it was, are ICE updates able to be done by the user, or is it a dealer procedure?

According to my local dealership not until the new model is announced as the deal to use car play wasn’t agreed until too late to put in current QQ’s.

Some of the new models will already have it also but we have to wait for the next gen QQ.

Stu, correct the new QQ J11B is out but without Apple CarPlay. It is obviously being thought about as in the US on some models it is available and in the EU included in the Micra for example. Just some comments for information Dave

Well I’ve pulled the trigger on a a 1.5 Tekna with glass roof.

Fingers crossed for CarPlay coming sometime later on.

Erm, I’ve just watched a review of the entertainment system and it said you can’t stream audio via Bluetooth? Is this correct?

This could be a deal breaker!

You can stream music by Bluetooth in my QQ J11a so if they have stopped that in the new model that's a step backwards

I can’t imagine they would have. There is a carwow video on YouTube saying you couldn’t stream music via Bluetooth.

Out of curiosity, what’s the model number of the newest one, if yours is a J11a?

J11B.

I’ve got a J11B and can stream music from my iPhone via Bluetooth to the Qashqai’s speakers/Nissan Connect system.

The only thing missing, which was on the previous J11A model, is voice activation via the steering wheel (i.e. Siri on the iPhone/OK Google on Android).

The above applies to U.K. specific models and might have changed since I collected my QQ last autumn.
