When the emergency brake comes on do the rear brake lights come on? Probably impossible to know unless you ask the person behind!

Yes, according to page 5-111 of the manual.

I had another false activation today, again a traffic bollard on a traffic island.

Maybe a pattern forming too. All 3 events have been caused by road furniture at 15-20 degrees to the right of the line the car was driving along. All 3 also had road furniture that was the same width as a pedestrian too.

Thanks DaveBerlin, false alerts are one thing but when the anchors are applied with zero warning nor reason it has to be a fault in either the software or the sensors. Rogue owners are taking this further in the US as it has caused crashes. The manual is well worth reading (and i have) but for me this is nothing but a fault. I can forgive the occasional audible or visual alert but if i get another emergency application of the brakes in similar circumstances then it'll be off to the dealers to be checked.

Ok, the emergency braking system has now been turned off.

Another false activation of the brakes, this time in an underground car park whilst driving between the wide rows of cars with nothing whatsoever in front of me. No advanced warnings just immediate application of the brakes with the bells and whistles at that point.

Back to the dealers in due course.

Always useful if you have a dashcam to record the moment of great fun and elation. I'm an advocate of dashcams :)

Hi Daewar, I do have a dashcam and so took a look back at the footage this morning. What i didn't see at the time was a pedestrian cross my path some 20 metres ahead of me. Fair enough to alert me in most circumstances but not when I am so far away and only moving at walking pace surely?. This was a full on emergency stop that it decided was needed after all.

Pandjh, Certainly appears to be the system is far too sensitive

Emergency braking saved me a big bill recently when a car with defective brake lights stopped in front of me on a national speed limit road.

I always assumed that there was a speed setting above which the system would activate.
If yours activated at walking pace, maybe a duff sensor ?
