If you're daft enough or brave enough eventually that panel turns red and you get a loud noise.
Continue and the brakes are applied.
Where did you get that info from? I've driven miles with the warning showing because the radar sensor was covered with snow or the BSW warning showing because I've got a bike on the back or towing a trailer.

simple observation

Lane warning - I've often heard the lane warning go off and had the chance to look when I was on a deserted stretch of motorway near Carlisle.

Proximity - driving up the A34 near Congleton, there's a 40mph zone with houses. On a dark wintery night, a pratt with non-functional brake lights slowed to enter his driveway triggering my emergency braking system

Gloucester, I am not really sure I understand your comment. My “Enlarged” Pic of one fault was just to indicate in regard to the original question on what the problem could be related too and not as you have asked about it being Enlarged in the Centre - Dave

I was talking about a system fault displaying not the FEB system operating.

I think the icons change colour if there is a system fault...........Orange?

Because what you depicted would occur in the central part of the display - that's not what the OP was querying.

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my initial post.

Sounds like there is nothing to worry about, as these small icons just show what is on and off. I did switch on the lane detection system, and got a car between two lines show up too.

The icon was on the far right side, unlike the picture in a post from someone above, but at least it shows that they are just there to show what is on.

Loving the car so far, but at least I know where to come for help when required....many thanks!

OK that wasn't clear to me.
AFAIKR when my front sensors became covered in slush from the road there was a much larger warning symbol displayed (in the lower quadrant of the centre portion of the display). On that occasion it was dark, snowing and the road was congested - I didn't look at the small icon having seen a larger fault symbol plus I think an audible warning.
I don't know whether the observed differences are due to the different ages and trim levels of our cars (e.g. I certainly don't have blind spot warning).

I think you get a message like " radar obscured" or something similar when it's got snow on it.
