Wonder if anyone can help please. I have a 65 plate dci connect. Today the system key fault came up. I have tried everything I can think of to clear it nothing works. I have changed the battery in the key fob as well.

Only had the car 6 weeks.

Many thanks

I've heard/seen something about waving it in front of the push button start, to get the car to recognise it again. Not sure if it actually works or not though

That has always worked on mine; just do what icon is showing you what to do on display, when this occurs.

Hi ,
I have something coming up key system fault pic of steering wheel and button on dash and a red car with a key inside flashing. Tried changing batteries rubbing key fob. Disconnecting actual battery for car. The key works to automatically open and close door but not to start the engine. Anyone goat any ideas please?

I have the same problem at the moment. In U.S. there is more comment about it. Each time we have eventually got car working again by fiddling with the steering wheel.

Press the starter button with the fob. Had to do it with mine when battery died.

When the battery being changed doesn't work we move to the following:

Engine start function is controlled by
Door lock function + Power distribution system
NATS- security sub system in the Intelligent Key. (this is key/car coded communication)

The vehicle security function can operate only when the door lock and power distribution systems are operating normally.

If the doors respond to the key correctly then 2 items above can be discounted perhaps. The car recognises its Key ID when the doors lock/unlock.

Assuming the clutch is depressed and no other key is in the car the engine should start. Not necessarily and the Key ID is checked again.

Does the steering lock/unlock at anytime ?

There are many other reasons the car will not be allowed to start and most of them have DTCs (error codes) recorded. Without knowing recorded code(s) its impossible to diagnose the problem.
