I have a new Sept reg 2018 qashqai.

In my old car I used to charge my iphone through the usb lead (proper apple one!) whilst driving as I use it for sat nav via the maps app. In the qashqai it turns the radio on and off if its plugged in which is so annoying. Is there a work around for this? I also used to be able to get the spoken directions from my phone come through the radio but this doesn't seem to work in the new car - again any suggestions? TIA

My experience.

If the radio is playing (for example) and I connect my iPhone with a (genuine or not) cable the connect system says something like iPod/music player buffering.
You can now play the music on your iPhone whilst it chargers, albeit rather slowly.

Of course you (and I) want to listen to the radio.
Therefore once the iPhone is charging, press the radio button on the connect unit and (certainly in my car) the radio returns.

I have a 2019 visia and the radio cuts out when connected via usb to iPhone 7.
It says that iPod (then the name of my iPhone)unplugged. Then says detected. Then straight away is goes back to saying unconnected. This caused the radio to cut out for 0.5 secs
