I have only had car since 30th Nov, 1.3 160 bhp DCT Vivid Blue
Tried to see if any firmware and maps available both say no
I managed to download a XML file from the tomtom satnav for the maps
looking at it, the date stamp for the maps show 2017-12
So i assume that the maps are out of date
Sent a e-mail to cust service provided my Reg details, who gives me advise to contact the service dept to get updated.
strang when book says auto download via mobile
Shows Nissan do not know there own cars.

Rung them up to be told it is a live map system and update via the mobile

Was surprised when i told him about the date map against the map

So have Nissan dropped the ball by surplying a car with out of date maps

That does not update as they say

A little research turned up this site - https://apps.nissan.navshop.com/en_gb/support.html - which suggests map updating is done using a PC.

EDIT - I tried downloading that to my computer and running it but it won't start because I haven't plugged a USB stick in it with info downloaded from my non-existent car!

I think that's for US Nissan owners, not UK.

Travelusa, I might well have this all wrong, but let’s try. You do have a new QQ but is this the “Latest” Updated Version ? the reason being I am awaiting a Test Drive in the same QQ Tekna + and last week I was with our Sales Guy and asked was the Connect in his QQ the New Version his answer was “Yes”, but now after contacting him again with data he has agreed it is not.
I think you will find that the attachment is the New Version (Buttons are different) and hopefully this is what you have. The data is also hopefully for the new version of Updating Map Data, if I am wrong then Sorry ! - Dave :)

Dave I don't know how old this information might be, as Nissan announced cooperation with Google. Also Connect will run on Android in the future, therefore I assume it will primarily use Google maps.

Hi Daniel, this is a copy from the latest updated Nissan Guide App which is now being updated pretty frequently and even includes Russian Spec Vehicles now. Regarding how Up to Date the information is, is always a problem with Nissan, so as you mentioned it could be well out of date but come in the “Future” but when ? - Thanks for your comment Dave 👍

Not sure if I am on the right track but I came across this which would indicate the dealer has to update the maps
https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/niss ... pcare.html

NISSAN MAPCARE™ PROGRAM
UPDATED MAPS ONCE A YEAR, FREE* FOR THREE YEARS.
If you own a Nissan with NissanConnect*, you qualify for our Nissan MapCare™ program with a free map update every year. Just take your vehicle to your Nissan dealer and they'll take care of it - allowing you to plan your perfect route and find food, cash, hotels and more along the way.
*Offer available on the whole Nissan range embedded with NissanConnect (with the exception of 370Z and LCV range except eNV200 and Navara) produced from 1st May 2016 onwards (1st June 2016 for Juke and 1st November 2016 for Navara). Vehicles that are in stock but were produced before 1st May 2016 (1st June 2016 for Juke and 1st November 2016 for Navara) are excluded from this offer."

But I also came across this how to update your maps
https://nissan.navigation.com/mobile-pr ... RE-NA-6031
CONNECT 3 EUROPE - V3
Part number T1000-25985
This is the latest version available Genuine Nissan Connect 3 Lcn2 Kai SAT NAV Navigation SD Card V3 2018 Maps, I think the actual part number can vary dependant on your car Note Qashqai ect.
It may be cheaper to simply buy the update from fleabay there are many for sale at more than half the price nissan want

Also reading between the lines it is not Tom Tom maps or Google they are run on HERE maps, the reason I say this is it states it on the update page

This newly updated HERE map of Europe for your Nissan CONNECT LCN2 KAI navigation system covers millions of square kilometers and many points of interest.

4. Who provides the map data?
NISSAN uses HERE as their provider as they are the world leader in premium- quality digital map data and content. The HERE map is built on the roads of the world by over 2,000 geographic analysts and produces a map that the world turns to 100 million times each day.
https://nissan.navigation.com/cms/page. ... anEMEA/EUR

The fact that they are using HERE and charging so much for an update is a scam when HERE maps are free to update and always have been.

I am sure you could find the Maps yourself and with a little work around update your own maps, would it be legal not sure as like I said HERE maps are free

Update:
I now know 100% you can do mods on the maps so I guess this would also mean you could update your own maps if you could work it out I mean if people can sell you the update on fleabay then its do able

I believe this version of the map 25920-4EA0C will change the map from saying Navteq to HERE

I also found a site where the updated files are being offered and instructions on how to use them to update your own SD card free

I have the files needed to create the most recent SD card and instructions on how to do it only problem is I do not have an old SD card or system to test it on.
The Map folder was created 14.01.2018
However I can see that the map files were created on 08.05.2017 so this would be the year of the map and considering it is the latest version that is still nearly 2 years old

The Language files were created 13.03.2017 and most of the other files were the same date
So I guess Nissan Map files are old even when there new
