Since I not longer have my Qashqai I can't advise which plastic panels to check but you could readily pop the ones at the end of the fascia off and check those. Must be some under the bonnet too.

I've just checked the brochure I have closest to (i.e. before) your build date. It's dated June 2018 and under the individual model pages shows every version as a frontal view EXCEPT the N-Connecta which is a back view !!!!!
Only the now discontinued Pilot One Edition has the circular badge. All others are trapezoidal.
Moving to the September 2018 brochure, which still featured the old engines, the N-Connecta is still showing as a rear view but all the others EXCEPT the Acenta Premium have the trapezoidal badge. The Acenta Premium was a new model at that time and has the round badge. The Pilot One Edition had been discontinued by then.

I hadn’t noticed that the J11b has two different flat badges , my 68 plate Tekna has the round version - does anyone know the definitive difference between the round and trapezoid ?

YES. With the J11b the radar is in a higher position than it was with the J11a. It was found that the J11b trapezoid badge could block the radar and the round badge was introduced for cars with radar. The OP should take this up with the dealer.
