I don't have a manual for the J10 model; look it up in your Owner's Manual perhaps?

Thanks how do I reset it, would changing the battery affected it? Should I take it back to Halfords who replaced the battery

Press the trip button again, then maybe again. On the j11 you get 2 trip readings as well as the overall distance readout.
