I asked how it could take so long to update the system over an hour, but no response. I also see a mark on the side of the unit that was not there before. It seems to start a lot quicker and also, and it may be me, it never had AM radio, now it has. I also asked for a manual and they couldn't even give me one.
Can well imagine that ICE box loading new firmware is very slow....its not exactly the swiftest of computers....processor I mean. Also these dealers are private businesses that need money to pay their periodic bills. Free stuff is likely very low priority no matter what Nissan HQ demand. Mobilisation to commence the actual code load likely takes quite some time...plus any distractions along the way.

For those of you that have upgraded to D605 how are you getting on, does the problem persist or is it now fixed?

Not exactly sure what you mean by this? Do you mean someone nearby Dover testing after the D605 upgrade? If so, I live 15-20 miles from Dover and my upgrade is scheduled for early next week with the dealer.

I'll give it a couple of days and report back. It'll be fairly easy for me to notice a difference if it's resolved as it's been utterly dreadful for months & seemingly getting worse.

If it hadn't have been for this forum I'd have never known, so thanks all... Hopefully I can report good news with D605 working fine close to Dover next week :)

There have been reports on this forum that the unit fails (DAB reboot etc) in the vicinity of Dover. Particular there and when well away from Dover operates ok - ish? That indicates that specific radio interference is particularly severe around Dover and disrupts the Nissan units. The DAB system is supposed to be much more tolerant of radio interference than the older VHF FM system.

If it was specific to Dover then it should have been reported to the UK Authority (OFCOM) before this Nissan trouble. I'd expect other radios to have been affected there...many!

So anyone in/near Dover receiving this update (D605) might advise us here and monitor performance.

Well, I had the update to D605 done last Tuesday. I've done approx 350 miles since and I've not had a single reset. I'm fairly close to Dover and before the update it was pretty much unusable. So I would say D605 definitely fixes the issues 8-)
