Touch screen in 2014 Tekna fault - not reacting

Hello all,
We do have 2014 Tekna with touch screen for radio and sat nav. Anytime we want to use touch screen we get warning that screen is being touched and is in use. Looks like sensors are off?
Dealer says that we have got the latest software and quoted us 3.5k£ for replacement?
Anybody has had similar issue and knows how to resolve it? Thanks!

Irena, take a look at this recent post found under “Search”. We had ours replaced in 2017 and cost €4500 but under Guarantee - Dave 🙂

Thank you. I was hoping for some magic trick like reset as the screen just seems to be confused that it’s being touched but it’s not. Cheers

What ever you do, dont pay the dealer that kind of money to fix it, you can pick one up on Ebay for about £100. Or if you wanted something better there are lots of android replacements out there with the 360 view for around 300/500£.
Have you tried doing a factory reset?

I remember few years ago someone had a similar problem and got it fixed somehow without interfering with Nissan. Isn’t there a piece of debris fallen behind a cover frame?

What will happen if you try to recalibrate the display?

Is it the labour charges that make the cost so high (i.e. 2 days work to get at the actual unit) or is the part (at dealer prices) extortionate?

Labour time is probably around 1 hour from what I've seen needed to remove the unit. So 3 hours at a dealership.
