Firmware update fails - CONNECT 3

Hi all,

I have a USB prepared to run the firmware update for my Connect 3 to D554. The system recognises the update as being valid, but on reboot, it fails to initialise and I get a blank failure error.

Does anyone know what the issue might be?

Yep, all works fine when not in Firmware update mode.

Reason for updating is that others have mentioned here that it fixed the issues with the headunit restarting randomly (mainly if on DAB or Bluetooth).

Tried all the usual suspects:

• Different memory stick

• Reformatted the stick

• Redownlaoded and re-extracted the files

• Factory rest the head unit

At a loss with why it detects the correct update files but then fails to start copying the files.

Does the download site show the exact size of the D554 media file?

And does anybody who has downloaded and successfully installed D554 know what it was, particularly when downloaded and decompressed?

Looks like the downloaded .zip file is 3.79Gb

On the USB stick it is roughly 3.84Gb

Now we need someone to confirm that the sizes are right

As I recall there's a detailed post on updating by "Duncho".
Recall you need to have engine running whole time, and other requirements.
Probably on youtube too.

Does the website provide the D554 checksum?
