I checked the map updates yesterday, there was 31 of them! I guess they’d all been released within the past day or two, as none were there when I last checked a week or so ago.

I tried to do them by WiFi, but quickly realised they were going to take forever to download all of them, so loaded them up on a USB flash drive instead. Even then it took an age to download, and a very long time to load up into the Sat Nav unit.

On reflection, perhaps it was stupid to download all of them, as I’m only ever going to use my car in the UK. Quite what use (to me) are maps of Baltic States, Armenia, and European Oceans??? I don‘t really know?

Yep, saw these 2 but did only the UK ones, which as u said, isn't quick.

If UK only, wifi is bearable, if doing all then I'd do it via USB.

I'm about to go and make a deal on a 1.3 dct QQ and expecting the "new" connect system.
Unsure on the choice between Tekna and another n-connecta at the moment.
Of note, my partner has a brand new Micra, which seems to share the same connect unit. She can't recall any conversation wrt satnav updates with her salesman.

Can I ask how you are made aware of available updates ?
I guess you park close to your house and pick up your home Wi-Fi ?

Hi MikeGC, only had one update so far and it was discovered by manually launching the map update option in the connect unit. I understand there are 4 per year.

I can park next to my house and so pickup my home WiFi that way. The UK maps take up about 2GB. Updating all will take up about 16GB.

The USB option is perfectly good though.

and also when still a long way from the car in front gives to many warnings
the sensors are too senertive.

The car has today offered me a software update. I had it set to Automatic but it still seeks permission to start the update of the Connect software. It took 5 mins to download and about the same to apply.

Its now up to version 0808 from 0804.

If i spot any changes I'll post them here.

Yes, same with mine, Pandijh, it won’t auto update when driving. You have to be stationary, keep the engine running and electronic handbrake applied.

I did mine when I got home, in the driveway on WiFi, and as you say it took about 10 minutes.

Hi
My information centre dashboard computer keeps resetting its self after starting and restarting. My radio stays on when I leave the car. This never happened when I first had the car, the radio would switch off when I opened the door and the computer would save where I left it for example the body colour of car icon would stay the colour I had chosen previously. Can anyone help?

Hi Snappy332, this thread is about the new 2019 Qashqai systems, i see you have the J11, 2013/7 version. If you do a 'search' for DAB issues you will find plenty of material to read. I typically watch the 'Quick Links/Whats New?' section. If you do the same you will see regular comments about the issues with the Connect unit. You are not alone.

Other spurious electrical issues have been associated with a failing battery.
