Rear dashcam power feed and routing.

Hi All

I have just ordered a 1.3 DiG-T 160 N-Connecta 5dr DCT, Ink Blue, Heat Pack. I plan to put in front a rear dashcams. I have found the very detailed thread for the front, but does anyone have any information on where to get a power feed and routing of the cable?

I took the simple approach and connected both via the centre armrest socket using a 12v socket splitter and a 12v power extension lead.

The lead comes out the side across under the drivers seat to the centre door pillar after which it tucks neatly under the plastic trim and down the side of the rear seat into the boot. From there i go up to the side window and again tuck the wires behind the trim at head level, then to the dashcam i have placed at the top of the rear window.

(the 12v socket powers down a few minutes after you lock the car)

I have done exactly the same as Pandjh! Cable tucks nicely away out of sight,

From centre armrest under drivers seat to the centre door pillar and behind the trim.

Then under the trim and up the side of the rear seat

Then up from behind the seat, up the door pillar and along the head level trim edging to the camera

Just leave enough cable to the camera for when the boot is opened.... and don't use red wire

Nps Stevei, the last bit was added today, black conduit 10mm split tubing to hide the red cables and neaten it all up under the drivers seat.

Yep mine is routed as yours Pandjh.

Stevei, you might find that the rear view camera interferes with your DAB radio reception, it did on mine. However if it does, get yourself a noise suppressor (some cameras come with one in the kit) and place around the dashcam lead (I have put one around the lead where the lead plugs into the cars power socket). It cured the interference problem for me.

Doug you got a link to where you got your suppressor?

Sorry no. The suppressor came with the dash cam, which is a Nextbase. However if you search on line, suppressors seem to be readily available.
