The pdf attached below is about Vehicle Antennas (Aerials). It covers brief history and original antenna theory...not deeply/no maths.

The antenna range is from VLF (Long Wave) thru to Collision Avoidance Radars. 200 Khz to 77 Ghz. A table (Table 1) is presented showing each radio/radar service within the sub spectrum. This is about hardware only.

The major problem IMHO is that car antennas are required to operate low down close to the ground and as such in a very noisy environment. So the development result is rather a wide trade off and performance is variable. They obviously work better on top of a house etc and in direct line with a transmitter at fairly close range. The higher/nearer the better.

The authors are Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and published 2011. It is 8 years old but probably illustrates most of whats in production/installed now. I'm an ex radar tech from ancient days and to me this document is helpful....reminder!

Hope its helpful to others?
