Aircon fault code B24A9 - sunlight sensor

Hi,

First post but a bit desparate

Going on hols next Weds and our air con has become intermittent - 64 plate Tekna.

Went into local garage today who have come back with a B24A9 fault code - fault location "AC sunlight sensor - circuit malfunction". They list the probable causes as wiring, sunlight sensor or AC control module. They say they can't fix it and it's got to go to main dealer - it's booked in there on Friday but I'm concerned we're running out of time to get it fixed / get parts in.

I've heard/read about a lot of problems on the AC on QQs - anyone seen this particular fault code?

I've never heard anyone mention that one before.

The usual cause of AC failure on a Qashqai is condensor leakage

Thanks - found that page yep - so I'll just have to see what dealer says. They're now hoping to do diagnostics on Thursday.

This fault code is set when the sunlight sensor puts out a signal for a lack in sunlight.
Usually in a workshop there is not sunlight so when we read the dtc's it the workshop it will be there if you drive it out in to the daylight and then re read the code will go past

Basically this fault is in all of them but it isn't actually a fault in my own experience

If this fault is still set in sunlight then I'd take a closer look at the sensor but if it clears in sunlight then it's normal for it to be set in the workshop environment

If you have Aircon issues it's most likely a leak on qashqais or some other factor
