Button on door not working.

Good afternoon everyone.
Hope this query finds you well.

I'm about to buy a 2015 Nissan Qashqai Tekna, i noticed that when i pressed the button on the door handle the car didnt lock. I spoke to the Dealer about this and they said it only works if it comes as an option with the car. I'm sure this isn't the case. Don't all keyless go cars have the option to lock/unlock with the button on the door?? Really keen on the car but want to be sure its not an issue b4 i buy...
Can someone help please??

Hello SamSam07 and welcome.

There should be a setting in the Vehicle Information Display. There is on my current QQ and the previous QQ I had in 2014. If the box in the settings is unticked, then the button on the door won’t work.

I have the box unticked now to try and stop these keyless car thefts that you hear about:
UNLOCKING πŸ—
Vehicle Settings > Unlocking > I-Key Door Lock > Unticked ❎ (was Ticked βœ…)

There are so many QQs out there.
If that numpty can’t set your mind at rest, shop elsewhere.

SamSam07, I do not want to bore you with facts but you could take a look at these pages from the QQ J11 Manual. We have a 2014 QQ Tekna and never had a problem - Dave 🀨

Thank you Dave, I am actually wondering if it may be switched off from the settings. I'm going to check.

Does this mean if the box is unticked, the car cannot be stolen using one of those signal relay devices. A friend of mine just had a ford fiesta stolen this way.

I would think it would be more difficult for it to be stolen, though not impossible. It disables the keyless features of the buttons on the door handles and the boot on the car itself. The only way to unlock the car is by pressing the unlock button on the key fob, if you untick the box on the VID.
