Hi,

I've got a 2019 Qashqai that I've just got. When I get in the car the audio on my iPhone goes silent. When I look at audio on the phone it's set to 'Mycar', and if i switch it back to iPhone then audio works. This is when the phone is not wired in but is connected via Bluetooth.
Driving me mad a bit as have to do this each time.

Welcome to this forum.

CarPlay only works when the phone's plugged in. This is similar to the vast majority of cars. Only a few can do it wirelessly.

If it's anything like Android Auto, my experience is that it'#s also very fussy about the cable you use - only one of mine works most times.

Point me in the direction for a good cable gloucester cos I cant get it to work with the one I got (C connector)...TIA

If it helps, I use the original Apple cable and mine worked 90% of the time.
So I made sure it was working before setting off, to avoid having to pull over and fiddle with the phone/cable.

For the last 3 weeks, I have started the engine; unlocked the phone; then connect the cable - this has a 100% success rate, so far

So, I have a cheap (non-apple) braided cable on my desk.
I used it successfully this afternoon driving home (engine on; phone unlocked) texts and WhatsApp read, music played;phone call received.

Yayyyy .....All sorted now guys with the original cable. Thanks to all.
