Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Post by PIWIFB »

Hi
I have a 2019 QQ J11 and looked at getting a tow bar fitted . main dealer wants £1200 quid so I thought I would look at it myself. I can get a dedicated tow bar wiring loom for the car but cannot find anywhere for it to plug in. I have looked everywhere and had the rear panels off. I have found the main loom coming from the front along the passenger side and have found a socket that looks the most likely but it has wires in and out already. see pic attached.
anyone help please

This may sound silly but why not try ringing a few dealers around you.

Another suggestion - print this off and show it to them:

Although it's dated 2017 it's still essentially the same car

On modern vehicles you really need a 'vehicle specific' wiring loom. These specially made for the QQ of yor year and model. The wiring loom is run all the way forward towards the main fusebox and all the other electrical connections. You connect it in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer. You also need to 'load' the wiring loom into the ECU. Using a universal wiring loom (which is connected to the wires of the tail/brake lights etc. may cause faults. A vehicle specific wiring loom is (here in the Netherlands) expensive. Somewhere around €. 250,-. Often just as expensive as the towbar itself.

It's a dealer fit accessory. Go to another dealer...
