That service menu only applies to the 'old' version, I cannot get it on mine.

Since my BCM update the 'open bonnet' trick to enable full charging has now gone.

Also noticed that I can now set the car alarm system with the bonnet open which I could not do before (not that I ever wanted to do this). Looks like the bonnet switch has now been 'by-passed' somehow.

I was at our Nissan Dealer today and mentioned there was several complaints still regarding QQ J11B (Fiamm) Batteries and I did not want the same problem that we had earlier on on our QQ J11A. Both smiled and immediately opened the Bonnet of a Showroom QQ Tekna + and what was there, a Renault Nissan Varta Battery Made in Spain which they said is the newer one. Hopefully this will eliminate future Battery Problems we will see - Dave 😃

Description VARTA AG is a German company manufacturing batteries for global automotive, industrial, and consumer markets :

Dave...if i wanted that Varta Battery I couldn't get it on the market here. Nissan only...wonder how much?

So going to EuroCarParts locally shows something similar (Varta EFB 70AH/760A) for £279. They have 4 same type Batts similarly priced.....Bosch/Exide/Lion

As a cynic I'd say such a battery will be wrecked easy by under charge due to low mileage journeys. A way round this perverse problem I think is the recent Jumper Starter Packs (12v) . They are anywhere between £50 - £150 and based on High Capacity capacitors that I've suddenly taken an interest in. I'll put a post up on it and include one dismantled...a bit.

Dave, the picture of the battery you’ve taken has exactly the same specifications as the one that failed on mine in September (under 2 years of use). The only difference being it was one of the dreaded FIAMM batteries with a faulty cell.

Battery replaced under warranty at the dealers today, must have been all those months before the recall of not charging properly.

Gone from

to this (battery label faces towards back of car not much room to take a pic)

Will keep an eye on the other thread for the maintenance view.
