Driver's door button does not work

My Qashqai is 2015.
A fault has suddenly developed with the locking button on the driver's door.
Pressing the button on the exterior handle to lock or unlock the car no longer works. It's absolutely dead, I have to use my key fob.
The other two buttons (passenger door and boot) work OK, it's just the driver's door.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Have you tried putting a new batt in your remote keyfob. Just incase it's too low for the button to pickup the signal from the remote

The button is a "request" to unlock button as are the other two. A simple electrical switch. If the other two work with the key fob within about 50 cms or closer to the doors then the driver side switch appears to have a problem.

The switch is simple but whats connected to it isn't because it initiates low level radio communication between the cars security system and the key fob. A number of fault codes (DTCs) could be present if a diagnostic scanner is available.

I have exactly the same problem, the passengers side works perfectly just the drivers side.

Thanks for the replies.
The key fob does have a new battery. Pressing its buttons operates all the doors satisfactorily.
Using my spare fob makes no difference to the problem I am experiencing.
I am assuming, therefore, that the answer does not lie with the key fob.
I'd like to avoid a diagnostic scan, because of the cost!
Any more suggestions, please, before I am forced into having a scan?

the door button is just that, a button. Take the door card off & short it if its only 2 wires. That way you can tell if its the button or not. Just make sure its only 2 wires going into it.

Daewar, sorry for the delay in acknowledging your response. Please, what is the door card and how do I take it off?
(Incidentally, I have asked my local garage about this fault and they say the only solution is to replace the entire door handle - probably a couple of hundred quid!! )

Its the whole fabric panel/card that holds the window opening buttons/bottle storage/inside door opener etc. The door handle assembly and window system is behind the panel/card. It is retained in the metal door by plastic clips. Taking it off is fairly tricky without damaging stuff.

The switch (button assembly) is called DOOR REQUEST SWITCH. You need to search for it in this document. You probably need on site help with this.

However read the comments - it appears there's a problematic clip that has already been "broken".
