Latest Infortainment System - USB Music - Artist/Track/Playlist search ?

In my previous (66 Plate) X-TRail, music played on USB could be searched Artist/Track/Playlist etc - a la iPod

The latest system in the QQ only seems to allow folder/directory view :o Is this correct or am I missing a setting somewhere (My VW Golf offers the option to switch between "folder view" and "database view") ?

Thanks in advance

Terry

Do you have this page in your manual? This is from the American one but the unit looks the same as the British ones.

Excellent - Thanks

I'll (try to) stop asking stupid questions until I've actually got the car :D

Too much time on my hands until then !

Terry, after reading these facts from Gloucester I thought it was interesting, this is what I got using an old Intenso USB Stick I found - worked perfectly Dave 😊

Cheers all - it all works fine.

I simply hadn't allowed it enough time to index a 64Gb "stick"

It's a pity it doesn't have dual USB as it will presumably have to re-index if I use the port for an Android Auto connecton.

I can live with it being either/or - but depending on how good the nav is I might decide I can't live without "satelite view" in Android Auto Nav and give up with the USB anyway (the same music is stored on my phone anyway - I'm just less keen on the Android Auto interface for music although I prefer it for nav).

At least there's a choice

Terry, your question got me looking yesterday along with the info’ from Gloucester. I found after the USB Sticks also now a couple of Apple iPods with Music and they also work well and I tried using the voice command system today and that worked - things are getting better Dave πŸ˜‹

If only they'd made a 64GB Nano (pre-touchscreen).

I think I've worked out how to "find" Android Auto when the phone is connected via USB

That's the limitation in Android Auto in my book - if it could work via bluetooth you could just get and and drive - like you can if you only want phone functionality via bluetooth.

Apart from having satelite view in maps, the other winner in my book is its abiltiy to read aloud Whatsapp messages (and respond via voice command)
