Hi Guys
Had my +2 from brand new in Sept 2012. Had a problem with the battery a few years back and replaced it via Nissan. Sure this was at a cost of around £110+VAT as this was the time Nissan admitted a fault and had to replace loads of batteries.
Fast forward to 2020, car started to struggle to turnover in this cold weather and I got a start/stop error in the dash which went as soon as it finally ticked over.
Phoned Nissan... battery only comes with 1 year warranty and they quoting £200 ish + VAT to replace .
Anyone had any experience with this? Nissan no longer doing ‘cheaper’ replacements?
Loathe the idea of shelling out £200 on another battery and if I had to, I’d go elsewhere and away from Nissan and somewhere that gives me a warranty.
Thoughts?
Karl

Welcome to this forum
Well battery life is potentially only around 4 years in any case. Check out other Nissan dealers locally - some are still advertising around your previous cost.

Thank you.
Called a few other dealers and all around £200 ish.
However got through to one who was a little more helpful.
I currently have 75Ah 780A CCA Start Stop Battery.
Dealer offered the following:
80Ah 780A start stop - £207 inc vat
70Ah 720A start stop - £122 inc vat
I’m guessing going lower isn’t a good idea.
What 3rd party options are available that will still fit?

IMO and experience Stop/Start is unnecessary and is causing us a good deal of grief. Its a curse really. My QQ has a FIAMM EFB in it currently from production to which I have to keep a close eye on. I have a Bosch £120 uncomplicated Batt standing by which is not for Stop/Start.
I stuck a simple Lion Batt from Eurocarparts (£70 - ish) in a 1.6 Focus a couple of years back...not a problem where car not doing constant short journeys.
There's very little difference between 70AH/80AH and related cranking amps. Other than the manufacturer/price. They all have 3 year warranties I believe.
