Premium Traffic & CarPlay

Hi all,

I’m tending to use CarPlay a lot and I’ve noticed that I lose the Premium Traffic option because it’s no longer using the phone for the internet. Unplug the lightening connector from the phone and after a few seconds Premium Traffic is able to use the phone again for its internet connection.

Has anyone been able to use both simultaneously? It seems that the CarPlay connection switches off the wifi connection to the phone (iPhone).

Using Android Auto I have a setting (EDIT - in the app on the phone) "Limit Wi-Fi - Turn W--Fi off when Android Auto is running on your phone or through your car's USB" which I think is on by default - might CarPlay have a similar option?

I do have Premium Traffic enabled and the door to door app on my IPhone, as my QQ reads my phone contacts my phone must be connected.

I haven’t seen any messages, not that I have done many miles since picking up the car just before Xmas.

When the phone is only connected by Bluetooth, ie not plugged in, I get the little “Premium Traffic” words on the bottom r/h of the map. Once I’m plugged in with CarPlay it disappears. When I then check the settings and the connections, it shows CarPlay but no longer connected via wifi (which I understand), but now connected via CarPlay.
