2013 cruise control not working.

So, I recently bought a 2013 Qashqai and the cruise control hasn’t worked since I got it. Garage diagnosed it as faulty clutch switch with their diagnosis (I have seen the read out and can confirm it). They took nearly a month to order replacement and when it arrived it was the wrong one! So I said to them I’ll get it and fit myself if they reimburse me. Anyway, I’ve fitted the correct switch. No difference, when I press the CC button I still get absolutely nothing on the display between the dials. I’ve now tested the old ‘faulty’ switch with my multimeter and it operates as a N/O switch should. I’ve also tested the new one operating with the ignition on and it has 12V to it and closes when pressed. I’m now stumped! Any ideas/ tips?

The linked documents (USA version) below are the closest I can get to our Cruise Control System for the QQ J10/J11 cars. Gives a clue I think. More to it than clutch SW of course. Do people just guess at faulty items?
