Hazard lights when locking

Any help would be greatly appreciated here:

Nissan Qashqai 2014, 1.5 dCi tekna

No problems previously - when locking today, a long loud beeping sound occurred followed by the hazards turning on and staying on. It took everything to turn them off, when the car was locked it would occur again. There were no warning lights on the dashboard. We could drive the car and after a while the hazards would turn off but would start again when the car was locked.

Eventually, we managed to get the hazards to stay off and locked the car manually with the key.

Has anybody experienced any similar problems? I’ve looked in the manual but there is nothing for either the odd locking noise or the persistent hazards. I’ve also looked online to no avail. If anybody has any advice I would be exceptionally grateful!
