When was the battery last changed? Three years seems to be the expected life of a battery.

To be honest I thought the clock got its timing from RDS - it's certainly not necessarily DAB or satnav since I've had previous cars which changed the clock which didn't have DAB or satnav.
Three years for a battery? A Nissan battery perhaps
My wife's 2008 Mitsubishi Colt has never had a new battery. Car only used once since two weeks before lockdown and this morning started first time. Good batteries are available.😀

Nick, does the Mitsubishi have that Technology called “Stop / Start” ?. We had our FIAMM battery changed after about a year and the new one
lasted another 4 years until we sold it - Dave 🥱

No Dave, no stop/start on the Mitsubishi. I've had two Volvo's with stop/start one sold after 4 years the other after 4.5 years. Neither had any problems at all. My Qashqai battery lasted just under 2 years.😞

Nick, unfortunately I think it was the FIAMM Battery Quality that was the problem for the QQ and it should have been recognized earlier as it did not do the name of the QQ a lot of good - Dave 😏

Yes im afraid it is the dreaded FFIAMM battery thats the Renault Nissan battery its the one that comes with the car, i charge it with a charger once a fortnight but it seems that it needs a charge more frequently now. I also notice that when i either remove or reconnect the negative i sometimes get a spark. Its still the original battery but the car has done under 14000kms

Jem, personally I would not mess around with the Old Battery as you never know when it is going to let you down in a needed situation. It’s going to cost and it is a shame that you cannot get a new Battery under the Nissan Guarantee. Before we got our new QQ in Dec I asked what the Battery would be and it ended up as a VARTA. Now our Stop / Start is operating (can be a pain) virtually from Go every day - Best of Luck Dave 😉

Thank Dave, I understand, its already let me down when i needed it. The plan is to charge the battery using a charger until it full (which im doing right now) if the battery goes flat within a week then i know for sure its gone. Which model Varta battery is in yours? Theres no battery finder on their website.

Jem777, here you go this is the VARTA Battery that is in our German QQ naturally Built in Sunderland UK. I would be pretty sure that there are no differences but you never know if for example VARTA have changed a Spec, ours was built in June 19 delivered in Dec 19 - Dave 😉

Thanks Dave
The original battery failed the test as i said above, ill charge it up and see how long it lasts. Fully charged was at 12.66v then it dropped to 12.45v in less than 24hrs. I had a look at the Varda but i think they can't get the right one over here. Im getting a Delkor, first time ive heard of them. Thanks for taking the time to take that pic.
Thanks

BTW that Varda battery looks exactly like the FIAMM battery except for the Varda on it.
