Hi All,
I have just taken delivery of a new 2020 Tekna + model. Initial impressions are good but I have a problem. In my old Qashqai I had a button to turn off the Motion Sensor. The new car does not have this but I noticed that I could go though to "Vehicle Settings" to "Alarm" and set the sensor to "Ask on Exit". Great I though but alas when I go in to the settings menu "Alarm" does not appear at all so I cant set it up as "Ask on Exit". I don't even know if the movement sensor is even working?? I have asked the dealer and NISSAN customer services nether have any idea so far?
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Mike

I assume you refer to the Ultra Sonic Sensors at the car internal rear view mirror (front roof level). Is that not in the User Manual?

Hi,
There is no button now but the manual states that you can make the car Ask on Exit if you want to disable the detector if for instance you want to leave your dog inside. To do this you have to go into the vehicle settings and enable it. Unfortunately the area where you enable it in vehicle settings (alarm) is not there so I cant set it to Ask on Exit.

If its truly not there Mike..my guess is the car needs a system software update? Dealer should be onto that PDQ. Or get hold of Nissan Customer Services UK

Thank you but I have done a system software update, is it possible it is disabled by the factory? If it is it would be nice of them to let us know?

System reset...start gain. If fail again get onto Nissan directly. Those sensors can be a bloody nuisance.

/Hi Mikey,

Did you ever solve this? I had a 2019 plate Tekna last year for about 3 months until it developed a fault Nissan could not fix ( long Story ) and this car had the alarm in the menu as described. However i now have the 2020 model and its also missing. Im not even sure it has interior motion sensors as i often take my dog out and the alarm has so far not done off with him in the back seat and windows open. It's going to be a while, gibers the current state, but i wondered what would happen during a ferry crossing.

Regards
John

Hi John,
I had my car back to the dealer, who were more in the dark than me! In the end it seems that the motion alarm is disabled for certain versions of the car but it seems the rest of the alarm is functional. Not the end of the world as I have a dog too! I even contacted Nissan direct and after a lot of investigation they knew it was disabled but didn't know why. My theory is that it might only be happening at the top spec models because they have not room in the software for all the buttons and bells so in order to fit the extras they have to leave some things out.
In essence I am saying that it will be disabled on your car from new!
Hope That helps? It drove me crazy!!

Cheers Mikey,

Looking at the old cars this part was fitted. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223570656238. The new unit doesn't have any on the holes like before. Im thinking its been scrapped in the newer models.
