Hi
We fixed a satnav to dashboard using a small double sided adhesive Velcro pad. A card air freshener was hanging from it. Yesterday the plastic in the dash was all wrinkled/blistered like it had melted. Any ideas why this happened and how to fix it please?

That'll be caused by the air freshener chemicals; never place on plastic.

This paint is gone for good imho. Only thing I see is to remove it gently with a sharp blade and if necessary repaint this part. A new decoration on top would be easier though.

Susical, welcome to the Forum ! You mention that you used a Card Air Freshener. Now as Gel has mentioned this could well be a chemical reaction from the “Smellie” Card (droplets ?).if this was a liquid type which has cracked then it could be worse.
I like my cars to smell nice also but I read an article Years back and they have been banned ever since. if any member of the Family has a Breathing (Chest / Asthma / COPD) problem it can get really serious.
Damage like that on basically a “Bubbled” Plastic Film is not going to be easy to correct. If re-done locally (area is fairly large) it will probably stare at you on a daily basis. Or perhaps you could look for a 2nd Hand Dash at a reasonable price, but then comes the problems of installation, time etc - Good Luck Dave 😏

Not a proper solution, but you could get a dash mat cover, if you can find one that also covers that specific area which would at least hide this section of damage (if you can find one like this) but also according to the manufacturers reduce reflection of the dash onto the windscreen.

But then for the same sort of money you could just buy a second hand replacement for £20-30 on eBay and then fit yourself over a quiet weekend.
