I know that I can find lots of reference to cleaning materials that people use, but what do people use on the plastic? All of the external plastic needs something and I don;t really want a high gloss look. Just something to stop the dust getting engrainedI used to use a specialist shampoo to start with until someone told me to use 'baby shampoo' because it is neutral and will take anything out of your paint or polish. For the paintwork I have always been a fan of Autoglym Resin polish, with a final coat of extra gloss on it for extra shine. Happy with that

I use Auto Finesse Dressle for the exterior and interior plastics. Excellent product, lasts well and keeps trim looking like new.

Dionysus, recommending cleaning materials for cars is a difficult decision to make as everybody has there own preferences and experiences regarding Sprays / Waxes / Wipe On Wipe Off etc.
We have visited Florida for years and find that this sort of stuff is very cheap so I always buy and bring back with us.

I started using Armorall Multi-Purpose Auto Cleaner years ago and still find it good for all Plastic Finishes. For the Body Work I have been using Armorall Ultra Shine Liquid Polish. Last year I visited a Corvette Show and a Speed Boat Race and got talking to the Guys preparing their pride and joys and they used Meguiar's Gold Class Quik Wax (Carnaba Plus), so guess what I have that also.

Just another tip to make cleaning your tyres easier also from the US I use Tire Swipes which are basically a radial formed piece of hard foam which after spraying the tyres with a cleaner you swipe over. This is a clean operation but I usually use rubber gloves - Dave

Very informative. I thank all those that responded. I am on the hunt now for some new cleaning material and someone to bring it over.

Dave, Visual garage has been in touch already. 89 CAD plus GST ( I think that means VAT) including delivery to an address in Canada. A villa owner is due here in October, so I will sort all that out. And they will courier it for me. Thanks for all your info and help on that subject.

Gel, that is what I use at the moment , I notice that if I get any resin polish on the plastic it is not very good at removing it. Great whilst the car is new, but after a few Kms I am not too sure of its effectiveness, which is why is asked the question

Strangely enough being an old school owner, I still use Windolene Cream which I just squirt onto a cloth wait for it to dry and rub off. It is much cheaper than the "car accessory" products you pay an arm and a leg for and it works extremely well.
