Supermarket by chance? It looks very suspiciously like the shape the handle of a trolley would make. The only other thing i've seen that was similar was done by a laptop bag (with laptop inside). That was on the rear corner of a Citroen i had many moons ago but it didn't break the paint, which this looks like it might have done.I'm thinking a bag coming off a shoulder as someone swings around to get into a car.It suspect it will pull out / smart repair but it's always going to be noticeable just on where it is.

Ouch what a bummer. I'd try one of the dent specialists first they can work wonders had a few cars done in the past and you couldn't see the join.

I agree possible trolley handle attack but looking at my car the door handle just look too high for it. Wont be another car door for the same reason..... rather odd!

OuchNo idea how that could happen but I think the dent is not a break in simply as the dent looks like a dent rather than a dig with a screwdriver etcYou can obviously prize the door handle out but the dent is too high I almost said it does not look malicious but id imagine it feels like it isTotal bummer id ring these mobile dent repair people as the paints not broken they should be able to fix that 100% without you loosing your no claims and probably for the cost of your excess

Looking at the picture, it appears to be a perfectly round end of an inch diameter cylinder that's done it - such as a walking stick, wheel brace, or the handle end of a screwdriver, something like that. I'd say a dent that deep has to have been done maliciously - what would hit the door at that height without touching the door handle? Obviously this is speculation but I can barely imagine how angry you must be. I have sincere sympathy for you and I hope you get it sorted soon, and properly - insurance springs to mind.

The panels on the car are almost paper thin nowadays maybe a childs car seat bieng removed etc I hate thought theres people doing deliberate acts (I accept there are) but as theres just the solo dink just put it down to someone clearly not caring /paying attention and chances of a repeat has to be minimalI threw a tennis ball at my son once and pure fluke it bounced off hes head and dented my quarter panel when we was camping some could say child abuse Id class it as KarmaBut on positive note the cars damaged now so least you can stop worrying about that 1st dent/scratch and enjoy it now

I would go by the theory of it not being malicious but along the lines of someone having a bag or something similar on their shoulder as they swung around to get into their car in the bay next to you. I hate bay parking the gaps are not wide enough for modern cars and everyone always seems to be in a rush to get away, especially in super markets.I would try the mobile dent remover route, they are pretty good, but I do feel for you, who ever did it must have known what they did.
