I made an error in judgement and selected nightshade instead of pearl black. It's a company car and arriving in march.

I just need opinions on the colour mainly from a blokes point of view as I'm paranoid it's rather feminine.

How much does the purple shine though? Is it only when it's sunny or all the time?

I will try and change it but as I've already ordered it I don't hold out much hope

I have Nightshade and love it. Previously had the pearl black on a Juke and much prefer Nightshade. It only looks purple under sunlight and is a great look. Don't worry, you have made a good choice, even if by mistake.

A had a Skoda Yeti in Rosso Brunello virtually the same as Nightshade, it was a brilliant colour, sometimes it looked deep maroon, sometimes black, everyone thought it looked classy. I would have no worries of it looking feminine it certainly will not, you will love it.

Dont worry about it. This is my 2nd QQ in nightshade.Everyone who has commented on it when the sun is shining on it agrees it looks good.Even when its not sunny or dirty it still looks good in black.

Another Nightshade here.It only looks slightly purple in either bright sunlight or strong directional light(like when I go into a dark garage with strong light behind, it has a purpleish colour. To me, it's more like an aubergine: mainly black but with more depth!Apart from pink (culturally female these days), I've never understood this male/female attributions to inanimate items. We used to have a Mazda MX5 and friends often referred to it as a woman's car (or occasionally a hairdressers car). All I know is, it was an absolute blast to drive. A few mates who had them as second cars used them exclusively at weekends when the company car stayed on the driveway.Ignore any stereotyping and go with it. Much more interesting colour than boring black.

Agree, I don't think many colours are classed as women's coloured cars now, apart from those few powdery coloured ones on some Fiat 500's. In fact I have noticed that silver coloured cars seem the most popular with girls these days.

I feel a bit better about it. I guess I've always tried to stand out in the past so this just reenforces that trait.

I'm sure I'll like it when I see it. I suppose it's not like I have to look at it anyway as I'll be on the inside :)

Insensitive or what - but as long as the colour matches your shirt or, as in the case of the Aussie cricket team who last wore pink I think, perhaps not. I for one really don't think that modern blokes are too concerned about such things. Different matter with the majority of old farts on here, but as most of them say the blue is great nothing to worry about.
