I'm on 4th set; asked dealer if I could have old ones back on assumption they'll fail in a year.
I intended to get a paint shop to paint.
But dealer, he say NO; Nissan always want back.
4th Set!!! What the heck are Nissan playing at.
Already I need a full 18" alloy changing (been told its warranty covered) as theres a bit of corrosion on one them and now this.
Dealer told me today that they are seeing this as a common issue on QQs. My friend works for Nissan and said he will ask the QA department for an update behind this.
You'd have thought after the first returns they got in 2015, spec would have been amended /rectified. However, my 2 replacement
sets, failed showing same symptoms as those that came with car.

The J11a looks like it has exactly the same roof rails. Will Nissan carry the problem over to the facelift model? They're making a rod for their own backs if so. Remember when they were changing the entire roof rail assembly to remedy it?
Used to have 2015 1.6dCi 130 Xtronic N-tec+ in Gun Metallic
Houndie, you have raised a very good point on the Roof Rails on the J11B. I have tried talking to NCS here and the standard answer is "did not know of a problem" and when you ask to speak tomanagement or a technical person it is always "End of Story" no chance.
Perhaps beetroot42 could follow this up with his friend because I cannot understand how Nissan accept these parts and are losing out on supplying replacements + Labour costs. OK these Plastic Caps are falling out of a Molding Press at very quick cycles and are most likely peanuts cost but that is not the issue in the end it should be Customer Satisfaction.
I do not want to delegate work for you, but it could be helpful - Thanks Dave
My contact works at Nissan Engineering, and checked this out for me. It is a known problem within Nissan warranty team, and results from the company supplying the parts to Nissan. I'm told they have fixed they issue but guess depends if this has filtered through to parts and new builds.

Thanks for the feedback. Was there any mention of what the problem was - Plastic Stress Marks, preparation before painting etc.... - Dave
No he just told me that this part is from a supplier, so Nissan had no direct control, but should have been sorted now.
