You may have to tell your insurance company or agree to returning it to factory spec if it is ever repaired, in the past there have been disagreements about the cover for "customer added sundries" and insurers are now naturally cautious and haven't the time to chase up and repair non OEM additions.
But I think there is something to be said for having a car of unique appearance, the dealer changed the plates on my J11 between advertising it and me picking it up, I did think the spacing looked amateurish absconded didn't want a Euro badge until I realised it made it uniquely identifiable against even a cloned QQ with the same registration.
