Possible poor seal around base of aerial?

gvmdaddy - thank you, investigation now shows its more than likely the arial seal that is the problem.

There is no evidence of damp on the underside of the roof lining, but when taking the cover off the boot light (which is directly over the rear seats), water is evident

All I have to do now is find out how to take the lining off and reseal the arial

thanks to all for your responses

Well culprit found - never again will I take a car through a car wash!!!!

Leak was definitely from the aerial, when I took of the aerial "housing" from the roof, the opening for the lead was all buckled where the housing had been forcefully moved, hopefully the mastic I ran round and sat the gasket on will seal it :-)

Did you unscrew and remove the aerial before you put it through the car wash?

Water leaking into the boot and collecting in the spare wheel well. Appears to be from the extreme near side rear - possibly running from a defective seal around the light cluster or the boot seal?
