Not a lot of Kobe steel in the british built cars, like Qashqai. I expect none. Imported cars may have quite a bit. I think you are safe in a Qashqai.

Well here we go again another disaster story which has certainly hit the fan in the last few days - Takata Air Bags, Nissan Safety Approvals (1Mio Recall) and now this Kobe issue which is not only involving the car industry - Dave :)
Craig, I found an old comment regarding Nissanā€˜s use of Kobe Steel which says to be implemented in 2013 which might be of interest (again QQ related no idea).

I remember this Public Announcement and thought it would be nice if we had access to this material in Europe, but I don't think it got used here.
I can't be 100% sure but I suspect the impact for European cars is minimal.

Craig, at the end of the day I suppose it deepens on what the Specs / Mixes used are and where or if they are used in the U.K. and then do they seriously affect Safety, hopefully not. It has been mentioned in several reports which are now everywhere that Nissan used this Kobe Stuff for Doors & Bonnets - Dave ;)
