Garage that can repair Air Con OTHER than Nissan - South Wales area

Hi guys

New to the Forum here but hoped I could get a bit of advice. This is far from the first post on here about faulty aircon and I won't go into the same old topic that's been discussed before. I just want to know if anyone can recommend anyone in South Wales to repair the air conditioning in my 2014 Qashqai. Nissan want £100 to look at it plus the cost of repair plus £185 to re-gas . I have RAC warranty on the car so the repair itself should be free but it won't cover diagnostics or re-gassing. don't really want to be stung for a bill close to £300 all because other garages I've been to haven't got the correct fitting for the aircon gas unit.

Tom, unfortunately it is not just the “Fitting” that is the problem and it may be difficult to find a cheaper place. The Equipment required for the new Gas R1234yf is different to what was used on the old Gas R123a and is expensive along with the new Gas itself. It is possible that a lot of places are still set up for the Old Gas and that is the problem, but changes should be taking place due to the laws for the new Gas useage as the old Gas is being phased out - Best of Luck Dave

Thanks Dave. That does seem to be the issue. Just wondering if anyone knew of any reliable garages other than main dealer that can do the R1234YF refrigerant.

Fingers crossed someone out here can do it otherwise I’ll have to stump up the money and go to Nissan!
