Its an electronic unit that looks like the pic below. A plug in/out unit and located down at the front passenger right ankle/shin level within the Cabin Aircon Unit. The glove box needs removing for access. It cannot be easily tested and yours may not be faulty?

If you have no experience at this business (removal/replace) you could damage stuff. I don't know the part number....sorry.

Thank you, definitely not the cigarette lighter - never used it nor had anything connected to it.

Have booked it in to a local garage who are very reasonable and never rip people off, they’ve got me out of a couple of previous problems, so hopefully they can help!
Don’t have the confidence to be sorting it myself & potentially make it worse!

Found this on you tube, it's on an American nissan rogue which is a qashqai. Lhd,so he's taken out pedals, but I guess rhd don't need to do.

He's saying..."evidence of a mouse nest"? If true, perhaps cooling of the unit is reduced and pop go the semiconductors?
