Does anyone know what the small white socket is next to the ODBC socket that is behind the plastic panel on the drivers side - i did wonder if it was to plug under dash footwell lighting kit into ?

It is not the accessory plug 54 I have seen the one you mean mine has not got it just a blank whole where yours is.
The plug you are looking at is a Male and looks like the opposite to the Accessory plug which is Female.
This is the plug your looking at

And this is the Accessory plug

But I am not sure what that plug is for looking at it, it is connected to the OBD plug the main OBD is plug M40 I think and this plug is M41

Agree with above - isnt for footwell lights. I've wired my own footwell lights in using genuine parts (ebay)

I can only think it's for the puddle lights, however, Nissan in Kent (who sold me a puddle kit on ebay) told me my kot was correct for a new 19/69 plate.

Hmmmmm......

Could it be the plug feed for the illuminated sill plates?

Although I do wonder as... the plug for the footwell lights has a white plug in the same loom that "does nothing" a d iwonder if that would be a bridge for the sill plates.

Anyone got sill plates fitted by nissan and what to have a look for us?

I've had a good look around many of the electrical documents (suspects) we have and cannot find what appears to be a 16pin (perhaps 14 pin) populated connector. It points outward as the OBD connector does so I get the feeling its for another tool to plug into? Add in that its installed in a maintenance/service position...adjacent to the main one anyway. Perhaps its something related to production setup/config?

I cannot imagine any cable plugged up to it permanently because the cover would likely be fouled?

Iv'e not looked behind it to view wires....if any, Anybody know the wire colours? Might be able to identify if its on the CAN bus..I doubt it.

I agree.. I would assume also that any plug into that connector would/could foul on the cover plate.

If you twist the connector 90' itll pop up and you are able to view the wire colours.

Attached is a pic of the connector and wires (69 plate)

Hope this helps.
