Welcome to this forum. Good to see you're sorted and thanks for letting people know.

However not good for the door to have dropped on a 2 year old car.

If the door has sagged as you say - then there is either a problem or something was loose , which is surprising as such fixtures have a critical assembly torque during assembly

Thanks Dave, the nissan tech who looked at it said they believe that the seatbelt buckle had been caught in the door when its been closed at some point which caused it to drop, but I don't even remember the door being out at all, I valet the car sometimes weekly and it would have been something that I would definitely have noticed, when the guy pointed it out you could see it a mile off, so when drying right up close it would be very noticeable.

Hi old thread but did this annoying sound come back? I have purchased a 20 plate j11 and have the same issue as described here. The dealer was supposed to fix it as part of the sale and I thought they had as it was no longer there was went to pick up. Few days later it came back and now comes and goes. When I take it to the dealers, it doesn’t make the sound so they don’t look any further. Anyway today they agreed to book it into the service centre for a proper look. Just wanted to find out if there is a definitive in the issue.

The door does not appear to be sagging, maybe only a couple of mm but most qashqais I see are the same. Also happened to be at another car place over the weekend and found another car with the same issue. Decided to investigate a bit more while no one around and found that by thumping the door card with fist around the lock area produced the same sound.

Any views greatly appreciated before it goes in next month.

I am experiencing the same problem, in some cases if I close the door hard it goes away other times it does not. Really interested in what you all find out as I am currently trying to get a reoccurring EGR valve issue resolved.

Ahh someone else with the same problem. Today it was really annoying as I could hear it while driving over awkward bumps.

Mitch40 wrote: Thu Nov 26, 2020 7:20 am Well an update on this, turns out that no parts are defective or creaking, the drivers door had sagged by half an inch causing the latch to vibrate the connecting rod to the door handle which was causing the cricket sound, door has been reallignedand no longer creaks, so wd40 and lubricant definately wouldnt fix this long term.
How much did it cost to repair the door sagging issue?

Well they reckon they fixed it but no, next day it was back. What I have noticed though is that when it’s rained the sound is not here and once everything dries up then it comes back.

I had a similar squeak like this once, turned out to be the part of the seatbelt system that you plug the seatbelt into, it was wiggling around on its stalk and making noise.
