Pain occurs when there's pressure on, or damage to, the sciatic nerve
You could try investing in one of these Streetwize Seat Support Wedge, they take the strain off sitting on your coccyx ( Tail Bone ) but also will give you more height on your seat ( More room for the legs ) without moving the seat to far back that you need to stretch the arms.
I use one as I drive for a living so sat on my but for long journeys and this cushion has proved to be worth every penny, I suffer from back problems and this helps

Hi Terry. I'm pretty sure it's not that as I know sciatica and it plays on other aspects. I'm fine when I get out the car and I've been fine with other cars. I bought this car mid-December and I had a Micra before that for like 3yrs driving. Never had an issue in that, apart from general fatigue with long drives. This aching/pain starts witin 10 minutes no matter the seat position. The cushion could be an idea though as it's definitely cheaper than selling the car and looking around for a new one. Thank you for the tip :)
I wonder if you have a faulty seat, I find my drivers seat to be very comfy even on long drives, seams very strange that you have been driving a Micra ( Much less driver room ) and you had no problems.
Why not take a visit to a Nissan dealer and take a Qashqai for a test drive see if your seat feels different.

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking at the moment. My dads sat in it too and says it feels comfy until you do anything with the lumbar support. It feels very low to me and more like its pushing my bum out rather than supporting my curve. It's like you've noted above and maybe can be sorted with cushions, back supports etc but I'm reluctant as I've paid money and obviously want a car that feels comfortable for the money I've paid for. Not only a micra but BMW 3 series before that and a series of Mondeos before that and I've never had this issue. It's almost immediate discomfort and I got fatigue with longue journeys in the other cars but didn't feel discomfort just sitting in it

Hi Davey256,
Did you resolve your back pain issues in the QQ?
I have just bought a 67 Reg Tekna and am having similar issues to what you were having.
I've had ther car two weeks but like yourself, get uncomfortable very quickly into my journey. I'm 6 feet and about 13st in weight.
I do have lower back issues and can get uncomfortable on long journeys of an hour plus anyway.
I'm trying the Putnams 11 degree seat wedge with some slight success but still not as comfy as I was hoping to be.
I'm also trying the back rest further back than I usually do.
To be honest still experimenting really.
Would be good to know what you tried and if you found one thing or a combination of things that helped you.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

Apologies for the delayed reply. No, I unfortunately haven't resolved the issue. It's odd but I think it'd down to lack of adjustment options in relation to sea and steering wheel. I have the seat too far forward and my knee is against the central column, but if I have it a bit further back I'm not sure if that causes problems where I'm reaching too much for the wheel. If I lower the seat to bring it back a bit then it doesn't feel like my thighs are supported...I dunno, seems like I've tried everything and yet I'm still constantly shifting around in my seat to try get comfortable and find a position that feels right. Didn't have this issue in any car I've owned previously or in seats at work or home. I'm thinking now of trading in and actually found this post again while I was researching and comparing to other car seat problems. I hope you've had more success and if you have I'd be very grateful if you could share :)

Hi Dave / John, been reading your posts again on your Back Problems and it is a shame that you have not got it sorted. My wife is on the small side with a Back Problem and we tested the QQ J11A in 2014 and found the Seats very comfortable and bought one and in fact we now have the newer version QQ J11B and she thinks these are better. Surely the problem must be let’s say the physical side of things height, weight, Medical issues or it is the Seat, but as you mentioned the problem is only in the QQ.
When you read all the articles on the QQ the general comments are that the Seats are comfortable.
I remember a few years back in the US, some let’s say “Elderly” friends had access and seating problems in their SUV’s and it is just amazing the amount of stuff that is available from medical suppliers or websites to help this problem out so it might be worth a look if not already done.
I have attached the “Blurb” from Nissan on their Seats and a few Websites where there are some accessory options plus comments on possible reasons for the Seating Problems. It is highly likely you have already gone this way then “Sorry”, but it is Sunday and a read and a beer might help.

This might well be stupid but is there not the possibility of finding a “Seat Consultant” for advice or asking a Specialist for Sports Seats such as Recaro - I hope somehow you get things sorted Dave 😉🍻
