Anyone else experienced this? I can feel the isofix points and see the black bracket attached to the car when I let the back of my seats down, but it seems the points are just too low below the base of the seat to attach a child seat base to. I'm starting to think the brackets on my car are fitted the wrong way around or something.

Is a maxi cosi 2 way base, car is a 2013 qashqai.

Welcome; do always use SEARCH box before starting new thread; search for ISOFIX; lots of posts are found.

Welcome to this forum - and ignore my ignorance because I've never had a baby never mind a car seat!

Aren't the plugs adjustable? Slide them further back?

EDIT - here's one fitted in a J10:

They do look a lot more recessed ... :

... than my present Suzuki's - the latter's are above the seat:

Thanks for replies.

Gel - I did search but was unable to find anything suitable. Unless you know otherwise?

Gloucester - I've found them behind the seat but there is no access through the seat as such, in my old car (Xsara Picasso), they sat between the seats and you could see them clearly if you spread the cushions. The base clicked in there no problem.

I'm just struggling to understand why they are so low other than the bracket is back to front, but it is the same both sides.

Does yours look like the picture above? You can buy isofix guides which clip in to open up the socket. Try Amazon or eBay. They might already be installed in that picture

Just to update, I did find them in the end.
For anyone else facing this issue, don't look at the back of the seat, or in the slit between the back and base.

They are actually well hidden on the base of the seat with thin slits in the fabric. You will see them if you look closer to the edges and run your finger over them.
