Sticky tape on my number plates is coming off. What's the recommended way of screwing plates to the car. I see there are two screw holes in the body behind the plates for central holes on the plate (need to be drilled) - do you just use Halfords nylon screws or is there a more secure method?
Thank you.

Normally the No. Plate is held on with 2x screws and these normally locate in a threaded plastic bush. Now if the thread is stripped you will probably need new ones because the metal thickness is to thin to accept a Screwed thread. Just changed ours and it was 2x Threaded Bushes & Screws. There are normally so many screw options available. But it might mean a 3M Double Sided Tape Job - Dave

Thanks for that on mine a J10 I'm pretty sure the two bolts threads in the bodywork are metal. Having measured up the holes the bang smack to the edge of a letter so won't look that good. I think at the moment I'll go for the 3m double sided tape method.

Might be worth a visit to Halfords - Dave
