Monkey Vs Door Handle

Afternoon All,

After a visit to the Safari, i am sort of regretting driving through the monkey enclosure.

After a good old polish i have noticed some cheeky monkey has bitten the button on the passenger side door handle.

I have been to Nissan who have to "import" the part from Japan and that it will also require painting.

Surely there is a easier way to replace the "Rubber" button on the door handle?

It functions perfectly for now and is more a cosmetic fix (albeit the weather will get to it in the end).

Any suggestions appreciated.

Its a J10 56 plate Qashqai 2.0 ltr Tekna CVT.

There's lots of handles at eBay albeit not blue ones - I was thinking you might be able to extract the button and pop it in yours.

Perhaps cut a piece of suitable black plastic or rubber and glue.

Allesclar, as Billgo has suggested this could well be the cheapest and easiest option if you are a Handy Man. It would appear you need to pack out or fill the uneven area, knock up a template and stick a plastic or rubber piece over the top flush with the Handle. In the Old days this part was most likely available as a spare but now it is all about Sub-Assemblies, or a visit to the Scrappie. Another option to hide some of the Handle damage would be to fit some Chrome / St. Stl. Handle Covers - Alles Klar ! (German) Dave

I will be obtaining a handle off ebay and see if i can swap the mechanism out with my door handle.

Sommergirl, if they are for the QQ or Rogue Sport you will find that almost all of these “Stl. Stl.“ Door Handles will fit OK. You just have to make sure when you order that they are with or without Intelligent Key (the hole). Also some of the cheaper pressed out versions have very sharp edges on the undersides (cuts).
