Firstly apologies for the total lack of understanding of all things car related.
I have a 2011 QQ acenta 1.5 diesel. The timing belt went and wrecked the engine. The engine I had needs replacing, it was a K9k j10.
I have seen another k9k engine being sold by a salvage operator in Wales but it says it was for a k9k j11. I understand the j 11 is in reference to the newer version of the QQ.
Will this version still fit my car? I’ve read that it should as it’s the model (k9k). Just conscious of paying for an engine that turns out to not fit.
The k9k in your car is probably euro 4 in the j11 it will be euro 5/6. The head and block will be the same but sump and everything else will be different. For the cost of a 2nd hand engine and labour to remove and strip and rebuild to fit your car it would be cheaper to get yours repaired surly?
Hi Dani,
Thanks for your reply. Do you know any reputable mechanics that would be able to repair it ? I’ve had a few people ring up and they haven’t filled me with great confidence !
You could go to your local nissan dealer and ask for a quote for head removal. Worst case scenario. ie- 8 valves head skim, gaskets cam belt kit and coolant and oil.
