Hi everyone, bought myself a Nissan Qashqai 1.6 petrol a couple months ago and im experiencing some problems.
Couple weeks ago the car started hesitating when accelerating at low rpm, feels like the car is jumping forward until you get over 2000rpm.
There are no fault codes to be found.
So i started to pull stuff apart in order to try and clean up the intake, throttle body and so on.
Now when i got it all back togheter its even worse. Idle is at 2000rpm and when im driving and press down the clutch idle jumps between 1000 and 2000rpm. Still no fault codes
Im damn sure i didnt forget to connect anything, dont know what to do next..
Anyone got any ideas!?
Thanks
Dave

I suspect there are fault codes (DTC)...one or more. Just that your OBD unit can't register them which is a problem really. I don't know what OBD unit is good enough.
Its a fuel/air or exhaust (lambda) sensing problem from what you say. My experience with O2 (lambda) sensor failure is very rough low revs and hesitant acceleration. Mixture too rich and revs unstable. But you do need the DTCs, otherwise its guessing.

Update if anyone ever should have the same problems. Apperently since i cleaned the throttle body, intake and what not the nissan guys had to re calibrate the throttle/throttle body and now everything is fine again. They didnt find any DTC:s.
The hesitation remains and is probably because of bad spark plugs. They were supposed to be changed some time ago they told me.
Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave
I have the same problem ... Its had a full service . It's fine to start with then it's like kids are jumping around in the back ... The only thing I have not changed is the in line fuel filter which I was going to try next if I could find it ...... Many like would be greatly appreciated

Pretty annoying isnt it. Im going to change the spark plugs this week, if that dosent work my next thought is the fuel filter. Pretty sure its an in tank filter. I will probably check the fuel pressure to see if there actually is something wrong before i take the fuel system apart

Yeah it is .,.. we used are the weekend and done Somerset to Peterborough seems to be a bit better now. I was giving it a few high revs and pushing the gas pedal pasted the hard spot and it's seem to be a lot better time will tell
Hi Dave,
Is the problem sorted? My car is doing exactly same. The mechanic said it might be timing chain, then inlet manifold and now he is saying ECU. What was your problem? How did you get it sorted?

Mine was like that when I bought it. I changed air fliter, plugs, cleaned throttle body & MAF sensor, then it worked a dream after.
