I have a quite a story here and I wanna share it with you and maybe find solutions as nobody knows what is the problem.
Got my Qashqai 1.6 dig-t petrol in 2015 and since 2017 I can say I am having issues with the car:
~ the car is not accelerating as it should until Turbo kicks in.
I tried to explain several times to the Nissan engineers what is the issue but they all the time said that everything is ok. Went to several tests, everything was ok. The issue is visible only sometimes, usually when are high temperatures.
A few months ago I had issues with the power loss and it seems that a crankshaft sensor had erros, I have changed that senzor, after ~ 500 miles I have again that issue (yellow engine light on). What is very strange that after the error appears, until I stop the engine the car is working as it should.
I really do not have any idea what is happening , or what is the problem. In fact nobody knows. I had also the EGR cleaned, no change. I had the clutch and the wheel changed.
I really hope somebody can help me.

I don't recall people mentioning that scenario before.
All turbo cars will be less powerful off boost - I presume yours is more than that.

Yes, the power is not linear. Let's say that from 1800 rpm to 2500 it's a strugle and then the boost is coming and the car is accelerating violently for a 1-2 seconds.
Also, I have a Qashqai 1.2 dig-t and compared to that car the issue is visible.

The warning lamp is check engine which you need to investigate - DTC error code.
The Turbo behaviour is difficult to diagnose but appears to be a failing of threshold Boost pressure. I have no idea what that might be caused by and Nissan should diagnose it. Turbo is subject to ECU control but I don't have info on the 1.6 Petrol MR16DDT engine. I assume its Bypass and Wastegate which could be disrupting Turbo operation somehow?
You might try a Turbo specialist if Nissan is not satisfactory.
