Weird noise from engine?

Hello there, firstly I want to say hi to everyone as I’m new here.
I bought Qashqai couple of weeks ago and I just noticed a strange humming / farting sound from under the bonnet. The hum only occurs when reversing, with increasing revs the hum increases. Oddly enough, I noticed it only when I left the parking lot at work where the parking lot is slightly downhill, and I go uphill literally 2-3 meters (maybe a cold engine matters?). When I put in the first gear, the sound disappears straight away, the same when I reverse on a flat surface , e.g. when leaving the parking lot in front of the supermarket , there is no hum.
I will be grateful for any ideas what it might be and if there is anything to worry about.

PS2. Could this have anything to do with brake pads? I know the front ones are almost finished.
