Hi Calnorth
Sorry for delay
Tried usual to ensure no airlocks eg cold to warm with expansion cap off, inline etc etc
Used full pressure and low....seems to flow from inlet to outlet ok relative to pressure
Ordered a matrix and will give shot one of the days .......grrrrr
Thanks again for advice

I've experienced similar with an old van petrol tank. Engine cut after a few minutes of running. Some sort of leaf debris flapping over the outlet pipe within tank, thus blocking petrol flow.

Hi!

I have exactly the same problem with my heater. Did you finally solve it?

Thanks!

I was hoping some experienced people here might be able to help me

In cabin heating in my 2009 QQ+@ is very poor.

Feed pipe to heater core in cabin gets good and hot. Outlet pipe also gets hot but run fan on medium and 30 seconds later it is as good as cold. Hard to believe it its pulling heat from the core that fast but seems to be doing so.

This is what i have done

1. Replaced thermostat
2. Did the self diagnostics via the heater control panel which showed bad sunload sensor......replaced sunload sensor (no other fault eg all doors, other sensors show clear)
3. Replaced heater control panel (dual with AC) with one from another car to see if that was problem, it wasnt.
4. Flushed heater core with garden hose, both directions.
5. Tried the overnight vinegar fill of heater core, flushed again and refitted....no difference

Driving me cracked at this stage.

I notice there is a joint in feed from thermostat to heater core (see attached). Does anyone know what that yellow bit of plastic is? Wondering if potentially restrictive of flow

Im now beginning to think I will have to replace the blasted heater core to outrule that? No clips on pipe going joining heater core in cabin so hoping this doenst mean dash out (if it does it'll be the dremel, pipes cut, and new install with hoses!)

Thanks a lot everyone. Hoping for some inspiration
Hi all,
I know this thread is over 3 years old but it still is in the top results for anyone searching j10 heater issue, which is crap compared to every other car I've owned.
First time posting here but need to thank p15353 for the inspiration, you lead me down a rabbit hole which I think solved this issue.
I had done everything you did re flushing and changing thermostat etc, note there are 80c and 90c available for this car.
Anyway the self diagnostic via the cc panel. I read this thought this is new, so after trawling through the lots of vids etc I found cc recalibration for the j10 with auto cc.
Turn on the ignition
Hold the on/off on the cc panel for 5 secs
Every light on the cc panel will illuminate.
Turn the drivers temp until 51 is in the display.
Now turn the fan speed clockwise.
61 will be in the display.
Now turn the drivers temp clockwise to increase temp 10,20,and 30 are displayed each should give you +2c.
-10,-20 and -30 are also available with anticlockwise rotation but it's heat we want!!!.
Press auto to save settings.
Will need to be redone if car battery is disconnected in future.
Also you need to shine a 60w light on the sunload sensor in test mode or it will register the fault you had 25.
Thanks again
Fyi apparently this works on all nissans with the auto cc.
