Hi All!

I've searched the forums and I'm coming up a bit short on this one. I have a 2014 J11 1.5 dci with 140k kms. Whilst driving long distance, the EML came on (orange) with the stop/start system fault constantly coming up. I also noticed the cruise control wouldn't stay activated anymore. The car still drove normally (75kms or so). The next morning, I started the car only to find erratic startup idle, and it wouldn't keep running unless you kept your foot on the accelerator. Once the car warmed up, it ran normally again. Had the codes read:

P1484 and P1496, searched them online but cannot get a consistent answer on what the codes mean.

Anyone else experience this fault or can help with the codes? Any guidance would be appreciated!

P1484 LOW PRESSURE EGR VOLUME CONTROL VALVE

P1496 is not mentioned in diesel engine diagnostics...is that number right?

Exhaust Gas control will cause problems with running and signal the EML light. Emissions story here:

Awesome! Thanks I'll give it a read and start looking there. I had some DPF issues recently, I'll have to check out all the EGR systems now.

Yep, P1496 is definitely the code coming up. The guy I had read the codes mentioned something about the 5V power supply being low or unreliable... Not sure how true this is. Hopefully if I can clear the EGR fault this will go away too.

Bit random but I had the same issue was told it was the fpr so changed that and still the same, took it upon myself to change the diesel filter and hey presto problem solved

Codes P1484 and 1496 are not listed as specific Nissan fault codes and looking on the list I have both refer to auxiliary emissions control and are generic fault codes. I may be wrong, I am no mechanic.

Hey guys! Sorry, no luck on the P1484 code just yet. The P1496 it seems has to do with the diesel filter. I changed the filter and that helped a lot! Car runs OK now, just has the P1484 code which I believe has to do with the car being unhappy that I removed the DPF.

I've got a Stop Start fault and amber warning light showing.
I'm getting error codes P1481 and P1484.
Any ideas what these errors are?
